CBSE has highlighted the need to shift from rote to competency-based learning, which will ensure the students get wide exposure in terms of logical thinking and creativity. The competency-based education mechanism will gear up the students to face the challenges in the 21st century. It will boost their problem-solving abilities and capabilities to deal with real-life issues. CBSE has mentioned the need of shifting the assessment pattern from analyzing the rote memorization skills of the students to checking their problem-solving abilities. The competency-based learnings will test their higher-order skills like critical thinking, analysis skills, and conceptual clarity.
